<L'intimité trahie> is an experimental short film structured in three parts: harmony, dissonance, and the reformulation of meaning. Artist's Note

This project investigates the unique bond between language and personal life.
As a foreigner living in France, I’ve experienced moments when, even if literal translation was possible, the concepts expressed in French didn’t always align with those of my native language. The language that was once the closest to me became, paradoxically, one of the most distant.

When words began to drift away from me, I started to perceive that each person carries within them personal experiences and conceptual frameworks that go beyond language — beyond translation. This film gives form to that intimate subjectivity, where language fades to make room for a different kind of understanding: sensory, bodily, instinctive.

<Paradox>

This project began in 2024 in the coastal town of Anzio, Italy, as a collaboration with photographer Chiara Bruschini.
Born from a question that arose between perception and experience — "Are the things we see and believe truly absolute?" the work developed into a triptych, built around the concept of paradox. Each chapter gradually moves inward: from the physical, to memory, and finally toward spiritual pursuit. It starts with the tangible world around us — things we can touch, feel, and see — and follows a path that leads to the values we believe in, and the inner truths we seek. The project consists of a photo-text book including poetry, letters, and a fable, as well as two short films accompanying Chapters 2 and 3.

Artist's Note

<La chute> (The fall)
This chapter serves as an introduction to the entire work and directly presents the central theme. Made up of poetry and vertically inverted images, it explores the paradox of physical movement and visual perception. Through contrasting poetic lines and images that defy gravity,
the chapter reveals a rupture between reality and how we perceive it.


<La mémoire> (Memory)
This chapter deals with the paradox of memory, as lived experience transforms over time into altered recollection. Composed of photographs, a short film, and a letter, it contrasts vivid descriptions of past moments with the stark, discolored imagery that memory reshapes.
The gentle and intimate tone of the letter stands in contrast with the desolate photographs,
highlighting the instability and subjectivity of what we remember.


<La source de lumière> (The source of light)
This final chapter tells a story through the form of a fable.
A shark jawbone and the surreal imagery of water together build a dreamlike atmosphere,
serving as metaphors for the inner journey. It reflects the realization that the values we endlessly pursue outside of ourselves may have already existed within all along.
Though shaped as a fable, its message is not a lesson for others, but rather a quiet vow we make to ourselves — to listen inward, rather than outward.


Nothing in this project was constructed artificially.
Our thoughts and values at the time surfaced naturally, and found form through the rhythm and light of the seaside town of Anzio. The images were not staged, and the words were not scripted. Only the direction we wanted to look toward held everything together.
